We are issuing EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY MARCH 31ST @ 12:40 due to severe weather issued in our area. Busses WILL RUN THEIR ROUTES. JACKET CARE at the Grade School IS CANCELLED. Make immediate plans to pick up your child(ren). We apologize for the short notice but getting our children and staff home safely is top priority. BE SAFE!
ATTENTION CGS!! 📸 Track team pictures will be tomorrow, Friday the 31st during school! Students need to bring their track uniform to school. If you would like to purchase track pictures, please see the form below. WINTER SPORT RETAKES WILL ALSO BE TAKEN TOMORROW!! This includes; Cheer, 5-8th Boys and Girls Basketball, and A,B,C Volleyball teams. UNIFORMS FOR WINTER SPORTS WILL BE AT THE SCHOOL. No forms will be needed for retakes. 📸

Tomorrow!!! Thursday, March 30th, CGS will be collecting money for a non-profit organization called "Love, Abby". This organization was started by Terri and Daniel in memory of their daughter, Abby. Abby was killed by a drunk driver on January 10th, 2015. Soon after that, Abby's sister, Brandy came up with the idea for their family to do an act of kindness in memory of Abby. Later, they decided to do bigger acts of kindness to help kids and eventually created "Love, Abby." Today, they work with DCFS and area schools to supply numerous items including, but not limited to; emergency bags, clothes and shoes, school supplies and book bags, Christmas gifts, hygiene products, and food. Hundreds of kids in our school system and area have received these supplies.
Each CGS student is asked to donate $1 (or more) and wear their favorite baseball clothing tomorrow!! We would love to have 100% participation!!
Softball game for today 3/28/23 will now be played in Carlyle with a 4:30 start time, Bus will depart from CHS at 2:15. Baseball will still be played in Chester at the Cohen field with a 4:30 start time.
Tonight, March 27th, Chester High School will be hosting our Freshman Preview Night. Please enter through the Sharp Cafeteria. The doors will open at 5:45 pm. Incoming Freshman will get their schedule, crash course on life at CHS and the ability to visit and sign up for many sports and extra curricular activities.
Reminder, winter and spring sports pictures are tomorrow. Please bring all uniforms and accessories to school so you are prepared for your picture.
You're not going to want to miss this event! Over 40 tables of athletics, groups and extracurriculars will be represented and ready to talk to our incoming freshman and families. Presentation from the CHS administration. Freshman in attendance will receive their first high school class schedule. Hope everyone can make this great event.

Another really cool event happening at CHS! While some of the Seniors are attending the Senior Tea event, others will be invited to a Senior BBQ. Please join us for the first annual Backyard BBQ at W.O Smith Field on March 23rd.
