Woo hoooo! Celebrate Fitness Fun starts tomorrow! CGS has a lot of fun things planned for students this week, like our dress up days and daily fitness and health challenges! And we will end it all with our PTS hosted event, Celebrate Fitness Day! Students will get to go to the high school track on Thursday, April 20th and participate in many fun activities! Tomorrow we will post all of our daily Spirit Stick Class Winners from last week and then continue the friendly competitive fun up to the event! Spirit Stick Class Winners are determined by how much money each class raises as a whole on a daily basis. Students can raise money by asking family members and/or people from the community to donate any amount of money. All of the proceeds go directly to our PTS. The PTS (Parent Teacher Society) helps provide numerous things that are directly for our students. Such as...🔸funding buses for field trips, 🔸extra items or supplies for the classroom that other school budgets might not be able to cover, 🔸playground equipment, 🔸play items used during PE or recess, 🔸and so much more! If you are interested in donating, reach out to a student you know or please give the grade school office a call! Every little bit helps! 🥰 We will see you tomorrow, CGS! Let's have some fun while learning about health and fitness! 🧡💪🖤
Please join us for this unique ceremony, where will be honoring 28 CHS students. The students selected will range from Freshman to Senior. One staff member has picked one student and will read a short summary they created that describes a personal story or memory that had a positive impact on their life. We are very excited for this 1st annual event.
Celebrate Fitness Day is only a week away and CGS can't wait! Fliers were sent home with students last week and everything is well underway! The main event will take place on Thursday, April 20th at the high school track. Please tune in to the CCUSD 139 Facebook page or the app for daily updates on the event, information about the fundraiser associated with the event, and all the fun things our students will get to enjoy! Tomorrow!!! Thursday, March 30th, CGS will be collecting money for a non-profit organization called "Love, Abby". This organization was started by Terri and Daniel in memory of their daughter, Abby. Abby was killed by a drunk driver on January 10th, 2015. Soon after that, Abby's sister, Brandy came up with the idea for their family to do an act of kindness in memory of Abby. Later, they decided to do bigger acts of kindness to help kids and eventually created "Love, Abby." Today, they work with DCFS and area schools to supply numerous items including, but not limited to; emergency bags, clothes and shoes, school supplies and book bags, Christmas gifts, hygiene products, and food. Hundreds of kids in our school system and area have received these supplies.
Each CGS student is asked to donate $1 (or more) and wear their favorite baseball clothing tomorrow!! We would love to have 100% participation!!
Softball game for today 3/28/23 will now be played in Carlyle with a 4:30 start time, Bus will depart from CHS at 2:15. Baseball will still be played in Chester at the Cohen field with a 4:30 start time.
Tonight, March 27th, Chester High School will be hosting our Freshman Preview Night. Please enter through the Sharp Cafeteria. The doors will open at 5:45 pm. Incoming Freshman will get their schedule, crash course on life at CHS and the ability to visit and sign up for many sports and extra curricular activities.
Reminder, winter and spring sports pictures are tomorrow. Please bring all uniforms and accessories to school so you are prepared for your picture.
You're not going to want to miss this event! Over 40 tables of athletics, groups and extracurriculars will be represented and ready to talk to our incoming freshman and families.
