Last week some students from CGS and CHS competed in the Special Olympics Spring Games at Herrin High School! Our Junior Jacket and Yellow Jacket competitors were able to participate in different divisions of both track and field events. Below are their names and stats! 🔸Representing CHS, Leslie Asbury! Leslie won SILVER in the Mini Javelin Throw and GOLD in the 100 Meter Run!
🔸Representing CGS, Adam Essman! Nelvin Padilla! and Brendon Essman! Adam won GOLD for the 100 Meter Dash and Mini Javelin Throw! Nelvin won GOLD in the 50 Meter Wheelchair Race and received 4th Place in Softball Trow! Brendon won GOLD for the 100 Meter Run and earned a participation ribbon for Mini Javelin Throw!
Celebrate Fitness Day AT CGS was a HUGE success!!! 😃 Our celebration looked a little different being inside this year but it all worked out very well and everyone had an absolute blast! We would like to say a big thank you to all of our volunteers for dedicating their time to help out with the games and bouncy houses and also to Inflatable Fun for working with us to get everything set up in the gym this year! Good morning!! It’s Celebrate Fitness Day!! Due to rain, we were able to arrange for the inflatables to be in the grade school gym. Because of this, student visit times have had to be adjusted and space in the gym will be limited. We are excited that all students will still get to enjoy the inflatables!! Celebrate Fitness Day for April 20th has been canceled BUT, is RESCHEDULED for our rain date of Thursday, April 27th! The show WILL go on 😉 Due to the high winds predicted for tomorrow, the company who is providing our bouncy houses advised they would not be able to set up safely. We appreciate everyones understanding and we will still continue to have fitness fun for students the rest of this week at CGS!!!
